Children's of Alabama

Since 1911, Children’s of Alabama has provided specialized medical care for ill and injured children. Ranked among the best children’s hospitals in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. Children’s is the only health system in Alabama dedicated solely to the care and treatment of children. It is a private, not-for-profit medical center that serves as the teaching hospital for the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) pediatric medicine, surgery, research and residency programs. Children’s is dedicated to providing specialized care for all children regardless of their ability to pay but cannot do that alone. The hospital is fueled by the generous support of the community and your support helps keep a promise to all children. With your help, Children’s will be here to make a difference for generations to come.

Auction Donation Tips

To help make the event as successful as possible, here are a few tips for what works best when selecting auction items:

Choose items with broad appeal. Experiences, gift certificates, tickets, specialty products, or high-demand items tend to draw the most bids.
Keep presentation in mind. Items that are beautifully packaged, thoughtfully displayed, or easy to ship or carry home typically perform better.
Avoid branded merchandise. We’ve found that items featuring company logos (such as apparel or promotional items) don’t attract as much interest in the auction setting.
Include a short description or story. If there’s something unique about your item (such as where it came from, how it’s made, or why it’s special) please share that.
