HOST DEALER

Stowers Machinery

Company History

Stowers Machinery Corporation is a Cat dealer with deep roots and rich history. Stowers was founded in 1960 by three brothers: Bud, Dick, and Harry Stowers. Beginning with 70 employees and three locations, Stowers Machinery continually grew throughout the 1960s with the introduction of the interstate highway system to East Tennessee.

Stowers continued to see significant growth through the 1970s and was able to weather the recession of the early 1980s. Founder, Bud Stowers, retired in 1982. Wes Stowers, son of founder Harry, joined the business in 1988 after a career in the Air Force, and founder Dick Stowers retired in 1990. Stowers continued to see growth in the industry from the 1990s and into the 2000s. They endured yet another recession in 2008 and 2009 but used this time to exhibit cultural and financial strength to prepare for when the market improved. These efforts resulted in record growth for Stowers Machinery.

In 2012, Wes’ daughter, Lisa Stowers Rottmann, and her husband, Ed Rottmann, joined Stowers Machinery as third-generation owners of the company. Today, Stowers differentiates itself from its competitors in three major ways: its committed team of people, its superior Caterpillar product line, and its six well-equipped facilities.
